Mechanical Engineer – Automation Equipment Design

We are looking for a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to join our team, to apply a mastery of engineering analysis, mechanical design, and volume production methods to develop amazing products. Own the development of electro-mechanical automation equipment and mfg fixtures, from concept definition and system specification through design, production release and qualification
Responsible for all aspects of equipment projects, including system architecture definition, user requirements, component selection and design, test planning, prototype fabrication & testing, and final production release
Create detailed documentation of specifications, test reports, protocols, user instructions, etc; responsible for documentation release to Arena PLM system
Apply strong electro-mechanical engineering skills to ensure correct design of control electronics, wiring, mechanisms, structures, and wear-interfaces
Develop and implement novel control strategies, with support form the R&D team
Manage outside suppliers, contract manufacturers, and design partners to design and build future automation equipment and automated assy lines
Conduct equipment maintenance as needed, and manage training of maintenance personnel
Minimum 4 years of full-time electromechanical design experience developing automated assy tools, test systems, robotics, and mechanisms
Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical troubleshooting in a production environment
Portfolio that demonstrates exceptional technical ingenuity, and the ability to execute the design of novel concepts through to final implementation
Proven ability in cross-disciplinary leadership and collaboration
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Strong proficiency in Solidworks 2012 or later is required
Minimum BSME from an accredited engineering institution preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level
